As a Professional sewer for a Major Canada Flag Company in Central Ontario for many years she saw how the Mill-ends were discarded and pushed into a compactor. These discarded flags with their imperfections would never have been approved by the Federal Government to be completed to a flag. It always astounded her that no one was interested in repurposing these rejected flags.
In early 20I6 a life changing event brought forth the opportunity to use her professional sewing skills to up-cycle these discarded remnants into new, useable items such as; Pillow Cases, Totes, Aprons, Christmas Stockings and "LEXY" Bear. LEXY Bear, her popular Teddy Bear is made from scraps so no useable material is waisted. The fluff is purchased from a company in Toronto ON.
In February of 2017 she obtained approval from the Federal Government to use their “CANADA 150 LOGO” on all her creations. Making them “Heritage Collectable”
Obtaining these mill-ends provides her with a great satisfaction and pride knowing she is doing her part in order to reduce our carbon footprint for future generations. If every one person thought they could make a difference, As a whole, what a difference they could make.
Her sewing skills are also providing comfort in her Memorable Keepsakes Collection. Keepsake Pillows & Teddy Bears from the garments of a loved one.
